In this brief encouragement, my hopes are that my readers take a second to visualize and really try to feel God’s love. I also would like the reader to acknowledge the difficulty in detailing this psychological image, and the difficulty in delivering a physical emotion if I succeed in painting this picture for you. For God has truly touched my heart and I know with everything and every ounce of strength I have, that this task; that is in helping you understand, has been directed in complete perfection according to Gods’ will.

To help the reader understand this clearly, I’m going to use human examples to help others relate to the words of this writing.

The first human example is quite simple. Think of the early stages of a strong relationship that encountered a difficult chapter that maybe you or the person on the opposite end couldn’t let go of, but because you loved this person so much, even though your heart was torn and maybe hardened beyond measure, you forgave them moving forward in this friendship or relationship. And continuously, on a number of occasions you chose to continue forgiving this individual because your love was so strong for that person that you didn’t want to let that person go. It was written,

“And the LORD regretted the he had made man on the earth and it grieved him to his heart.”

The LORD was sad. Not only did we fail him, but even some of his angels did.

It was also written,

“When men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and took any wives that chose.”

Okay. So now, before you continue reading, if you have the time, try meditating on this or even re-reading it.

In the second portion of this writing, I’m going to point a scripture out of the book of Exodus, but before I do I want to explain why I am touched by this scripture and how I am able to relate to it, being that I believe myself to be one sent to contribute to Gods’ plans here on earth.

Although it sounds a little strange, there came a day when I faced extreme dangers, or at least I felt the negative energies aimed towards my spirit, that I called upon the name of my Father in heaven, and when I looked up towards the mountains and from a distance, I saw something at the top shining in multiple bright lights, but I was afraid to approach them because I didn’t know what they were; for they looked foreign. In the Book of Exodus it is written,

”And let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell in their midst.”

The people were so afraid of their loving God that when they saw him from a distance they had Moses go up to speak to the LORD alone. And God said spoke to Moses instructing him to build a sanctuary so that God could dwell in the midst of them.

Now in human format, because we are simple, I’m going to help you understand and maybe deliver a physical emotion from this painted picture. Hopefully you will laugh because our loving God gave us a sense of humor, but more importantly, maybe you can understand and learn from this human example.

Picture the most extreme horror film possible; preferably one where the villain wears a mask. Better yet, think of the character Sloth from the movie The Goonies and imagine he is your personal friend. Chances are, if you brought him with you to a public gathering, he might feel encouraged to wear one of those Covid-19 face masks because he’s a little different. Knowing this character, you learn that inside, he is full of love for his best friend Chunk, but Chunk is terrified at first, that is before they share a Baby Ruth and become friends. In the end, Sloth, wearing a Superman T-Shirt by the way, comes in clutch and saves the day.

The truth is this: Sloth just wanted to be loved and wanted to love others. Of course, God is not to be compared to a simple character out of a horror film like The Goonies, but meditating on these metaphorical examples might help you feel and understand Gods’ love for us.

Don’t be fooled. Yes, God is Almighty and for some, terrifying, but the LORD is full of compassion and goodness. Although he will be harsh on some, those who are willing to know, love and understand him; to you he will give you glory unimaginable. Fear God so that you submit to him. Love God because he loved you from the beginning.
